We are looking for a Research & Development Specialist who will contribute to our innovation strategy by developing new projects, adapting emerging technologies to our company, and managing national and international funding processes. The position will be based at ÇİMSA’s Mersin Plant.

Research & Development Specialist at Çimsa Mersin Plant, you will be responsible for:

  • Developing new research topics and project ideas for the R&D department, collaborating with all internal stakeholders to transform ideas into applicable projects,
  • Leading the preparation, execution, and monitoring of European Union and other international research projects, ensuring alignment with company strategies,
  • Managing national R&D projects (e.g., TÜBİTAK) by preparing project proposals, coordinating activities, and ensuring timely and compliant project delivery,
  • Identifying high-value scientific projects and new technological opportunities that will contribute to Çimsa’s innovation and financial growth,
  • Conducting patent and utility model eligibility assessments for all R&D and PMO projects, and carrying out the necessary research, documentation, and application processes,
  • Leading patent, utility model, and licensing processes for newly developed products, technologies, or knowledge, ensuring the protection of intellectual and industrial property rights.
  • Coordinating with relevant departments to support the industrial application of R&D and PMO project outcomes and ensuring successful implementation,
  • Participating in national and international congresses, symposiums, and technical events, and contributing to scientific publications when required,
  • Ensuring compliance with corporate procedures, documentation standards, and budgeting requirements throughout all project phases.

This is the opportunity for you if you have these skills and requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering,
  • Master’s degree in a relevant field (preferred),
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in R&D within the cement & building materials sector,
  • Experience in scientific writing, including research papers and technical reports,
  • Knowledge of raw materials, cement, and concrete technologies,
  • Solid understanding of patent and utility model processes,
  • Hands-on experience with national and international project application and management processes,
  • Awareness of Occupational Health & Safety practices,
  • Advanced proficiency in English (written and spoken),
  • Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving, and research capabilities,
  • Effective communication and cross-functional collaboration skills,
  • Innovative mindset with a proactive and solution-oriented approach,
  • Strong planning and project management skills.
